Following Giffords Shooting, Sarah Palin's Crosshairs Website Quickly Scrubbed From Internet

In the minutes following the shooting of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-AZ) and members of her staff, the website operated by Sarah Palin that illustrated Gifford's 8th district with gun crosshairs drawn on a map was scrubbed from the internet.

The site, TakeBackThe20.com, was operating normally at 1:07 CST when I connected to obtain an image of the crosshairs map:

When I connected approximately one hour later at 2:10 PM, the site had been replaced with a webserver error, meaning that the webserver was answering but that the content upon it an hour earlier was not being served

Later, at approximately 2:45 PM, the server could no longer be reached at all. Clicks to it met with a DNS error, meaning that any clicks to TakeBackThe20.com would not find an underlying IP address.

Facebook Ending March 15 2011 - Another Ridiculous Rumor Spreading like Crazy

Facebook Social Network
"Itu semua khabar angin. Facebook tidak akan berakhir atau ditutup pada 15 Mac 2011 ini. Sekiranya Facebook ditutup, maka pesaing-pesaingnya seperti Friendster, MySpace, Hi5 dan lain-lain akan kembali hangat di kalangan pengguna internet." - Amiene Rev

FACEBOOK WILL END ON MARCH 15th
http://weeklyworldnews.com

PALO ALTO, CA –Mark Zuckerberg announced that Facebook will be shut down in March. Managing the site has become too stressful.

“Facebook has gotten out of control,” said Zuckerberg in a press conference outside his Palo Alto office, “and the stress of managing this company has ruined my life. I need to put an end to all the madness.”

Zuckerberg went on to explain that starting March 15th, users will no longer be able to access their Facebook accounts.

“After March 15th the whole website shuts down,” said Avrat Humarthi, Vice President of Technical Affairs at Facebook. “So if you ever want to see your pictures again, I recommend you take them off the internet. You won’t be able to get them back once Facebook goes out of business.”

Zuckerberg said that the decision to shut down Facebook was difficult, but that he does not think people will be upset.

“I personally don’t think it’s a big deal,” he said in a private phone interview. “And to be honest, I think it’s for the better. Without Facebook, people will have to go outside and make real friends. That’s always a good thing.”

Some Facebook users were furious upon hearing the shocking news.

“What am I going to do without Facebook?” said Denise Bradshaw, a high school student from Indiana. “My life revolves around it. I’m on Facebook at least 10 hours a day. Now what am I going to do with all that free time?”

However, parents across the country have been experiencing a long anticipated sense of relief.

“I’m glad the Facebook nightmare is over,” said Jon Guttari, a single parent from Detroit. “Now my teenager’s face won’t be glued to a computer screen all day. Maybe I can even have a conversation with her.”

Those in the financial circuit are criticizing Zuckerberg for walking away from a multibillion dollar franchise. Facebook is currently ranked as one of the wealthiest businesses in the world, with economists estimating its value at around 7.9 billion.

But Zuckerberg remains unruffled by these accusations. He says he will stand by his decision to give Facebook the axe.

“I don’t care about the money,” said Zuckerberg. “I just want my old life back.”

The Facebook Corporation suggests that users remove all of their personal information from the website before March 15th. After that date, all photos, notes, links, and videos will be permanently erased.

Is Facebook Ending on March 15?
Another Ridiculous Rumor Spreading like Crazy
Website: www.associatedcontent.com

Will Facebook end on March 15, 2011? This is the latest trend circulating all over the web. Don't worry folks, Facebook will NOT be closing down. How did this rumor get started?

According to World News Insight , it started off by the actual website and then of course spread like wildfire on the popular social network Twitter. I know some folks are seeing this headline, and saying
"OMG! What am I going to do without my Facebook?" No need to panic. Look at it this way, at least this rumor isn't about another celebrity passing away.

Even more aggravating the same website ( Weekly World News )who had Michelle Obama pregnant, and Michael Jackson spotted on the moon is also reporting about Facebook closing down. They quote " Starting March 15, users will no longer be able to access their Facebook account." Don't believe it. Like I mentioned in an earlier article this month, you can't really believe this website. Yes, some of their stories are true, but lately they are all hoaxes.

This is not the first time this hoax has been mentioned. Back in 2007, the same rumor went around. Many people were saying the social network was getting sued, or someone else was buying the company. Don't you think if this was true, it would be all over the television, and better websites such as TMZ, The Huffington Post, or RadarOnline?

So for all you Facebook junkies, no need to get upset and start erasing your friends and your account, because it's not going anywhere. Continue to do what you do best, and that's having fun, promoting, and meeting new people.

Facebook Shutting Down Rumor Goes Viral:
Site Said To Be Ending March 15, 2011
Resource: The Huffington Post

It's not clear how it started, but a ridiculous rumor that Facebook is shutting down is spreading fast on social networks.

The hot rumor -- evidenced by Google Trends and gaining traction on Twitter -- says that on March 15, 2011, Facebook will be closing down. Not taking a day off, not undergoing maintenance, but ending entirely.

The rumor has led to such frantic tweets as, "Facebook will be shutting down on March 2011? I hope not!" (@MissAyl) and "So the rumor is Facebook is shutting down....please don't jump to twitter & ruin my social networking experience" (@jjelksboss).

Facebook users are also concerned. Says one: "Facebook is shutting down on March 15, 2011 for good D: Is there any way we can stop this!?!?" And a group has already started to stop Facebook from shutting down.

Ironically, Yahoo announced last month that its "Yahoo Video" will be closing down on the date in question, March 15, 2011, and videos can be seen for the last time on March 14. But that hardly means it's taking the rest of the Internet down with it.

Just a day ago, an opinion piece published on CNN said that the recent Goldman Sachs investment was the "beginning of the end" for Facebook. That post went viral with more than 5,000 Facebook "likes" and could be partially to blame for the ensuing panic.

Whatever the reason for this rumor, it's safe to say that as a site with more than 500 million users and a $500 millon investment from Goldman Sachs recently, Facebook won't be shutting down anytime soon.

Facebook ends March 15th, 2011

Yes, you are reading right! Facebook will end on March 15th, 2011.This means that the friends which you have made and interacted with during Facebook life time will not be accessible anymore; maybe funeral arrangements could be made to bid farewell to beloved Facebook.

According to founder Mark ZuckerbergMark Zuckerberg operating Facebook has become stressful taking too much out of him. Therefore,

“After March 15th the whole website shuts down,” said Avrat Humarthi, Vice President of Technical Affairs at Facebook. “So if you ever want to see your pictures again, I recommend you take them off the internet. You won’t be able to get them back once Facebook goes out of business.”

Further the founder has been quoted to saying from a world news interview on the decision that:

“I personally don’t think it’s a big deal. And to be honest, I think it’s for the better. Without Facebook, people will have to go outside and make real friends. That’s always a good thing…….. I don’t care about the money. I just want my old life back.”

Speculations are that he has made enough money or there is something else which is not being told to the public about the closure of Facebook. However, it could be a great idea for fans to collaborate and start their own Facebook site. What do you think?

NOTE: Based on above articles, what you think? It's a rumour. It's a hoax. Don't be worry.

A little fun fact:
